ABOUT US

The Department of Urban and Regional Planning at University of Hawai‘i at Manoa in collaboration with the American Planning Association held a series of workshops for the public at the Hawai‘i Community Development Authority.  Workshops were held on six consecutive Tuesday evenings from October 13, 2015 through November 17, 2015. The goal was to create a space for information sharing, dialogue and connection.  The Kaka‘ako Our Kuleana workshops facilitated public education about development issues in Kaka‘ako to engage community members and stakeholders in dialogue about Kaka‘ako’s future.  

 

Each workshop included presentations by experts in the field, public officials and community advocates. Participants engaged in interactive discussions and activities that encouraged collaborative learning and innovative thinking.

 

Participants continue to meet and pan to form a community association for residents, business owners and anyone concerned with Kaka‘ako's future.  They may be contacted at the Kaka‘ako Google Group.
